NCAAT in Action endorses Diamond Staton-Williams for the North Carolina House of Representatives District 73
Representative Diamond Staton-Williams has spent years serving Cabarrus County as a healthcare professional and elected official; in her time as a member of the Harrisburg Town Council and in the N.C. House of Representatives, Staton-Williams has prioritized policies that uplift the working class and underserved communities. As a nurse, Staton-Williams understands the need for affordable healthcare access and supporting healthcare workers; she has worked to achieve this in the N.C. House by voting to expand Medicaid and as a co-sponsor of legislation to support registered nurses. Staton-Williams has been an ally to the Asian American community in office, including support for immigrants’ rights and voting rights protections.
“I believe in advocating for others and ensuring their needs are met. I believe in learning about other cultures, respecting and valuing each other’s communities.”
