Working in coalition across difference to lift up all North Carolinians
Working in solidarity with movements for racial justice and liberation has always been an essential part of Asian American organizing. The term "Asian American" itself was a political term coined by Yuji Ichioka and Emma Gee, inspired by the Black Power movement, the American Indian movement, and other activist groups. The political identification came with the goals of uniting Asians under a united group and rejecting Orientalist framing.
NCAAT in Action is committed to advocating for policies that advance racial justice and endorsing candidates who are similary committed to equity and justice for Asian Americans and other communities of color.
